A really special restaurant in the middle of the Black Forest. The Italian operators are incredibly personable and attentive. The kitchen is absolutely excellent and you can tell that every dish was prepared with great dedication and expertise. I'm looking forward to my next visit ... ;-)

Nice little hotel. Unfortunately in a poor condition. If the Easter bunnies are still on the windowsill in September, that says it all. The rooms were only superficially cleaned. When we arrived, we were still walking over sand and stones that our predecessors had lost from their hiking boots. The shower was never cleaned while we were there and you had to ask for fresh towels. The loose textile floor is a nasty trip hazard. The food is okay. Sometimes very small portions and steep prices. The opening times are rather inconvenient for hotel guests. It is completely closed on Wednesdays, also on Thursday afternoons. A coffee on the terrace - no chance. At 8 or 9 o'clock in the evening we had to go to bed because there was no place to stay in the hotel itself. We didn't feel welcome and wouldn't go back either!

This is our first time in Inselklause and we like it. Very nice Italian hosts! You can have a delicious meal in the small restaurant in the evening at very good prices. Pizza is original Italian and the menu also offers fresh trout. You can still watch them alive behind the house. They are caught every day and are fresh on the plate.

Very courteous service, lovingly cozy furnishings, the Toscana platter as a starter is fantastic and highly recommended.

My wife and I went to dinner there after a long day of hiking. We were allowed to order something shortly before the end of the day. Very commendable. I had the freshly caught blue trout. My wife a simple margarita pizza. Really great. Both really taste good. Super nice service and a very nice ambience. Especially outside very cozy. We recommend.

Our stay was very nice and relaxing. The location is perfect: you can easily hike to Triberg or the waterfalls (about 1 hour) and enjoy the fresh air and the surroundings, or you can just take the bus (bus stop right next to the accommodation). The rooms are furnished in the Black Forest charm and the breakfast is very tasty and we are happy to cater to your wishes. In addition, the accommodation is located directly on a stream, in which own trout are bred, which can be ordered in the restaurant (also very tasty). The owners certainly don't have it easy due to Corona, but they do everything really well, are very friendly and courteous. They come from Italy and this love for good food and good products can be tasted both at breakfast and in the restaurant. We definitely recommend the hotel and would definitely go back! :)

Nice but a bit disappointed. Liked · Nicely located. Located on the street, but there is a quiet room with a view of the mountain and the stream. Nice but small room (Breg). Allegedly great cuisine, but unfortunately couldn't try it (see below). Breakfast (Corona) quite good. Disliked · Staff a bit harsh, we didn't feel welcome. (When we wanted to stay for dinner, we heard a bit harshly - we have not reserved, we are full. When we asked when we could come we received the answer - 8:00 pm or later, but no guarantee. We said, we would queue up and see how the situation developed. Since we still had some time until 8:00 p.m., we went into the forest and ended up in the neighborhood, for the first time for a beer, then we ate there too. Back in the hotel we listened to each other - I made a reservation for you, but it doesn't matter. And that again in a somewhat harsh tone.)

We were here with 20 people two days ago and we loved it. Very nice and competent service. The food was very good too. I can only recommend it, they set up a large table especially for us, we will definitely be back. We are in the Black Forest twice a year and de Inselklause is on our list of favorites. Tried restaurant for a Friday dinner with friends and family... Enjoyed all the dishes. Taste was delicious. Price was good. Good ambiance. Kids enjoyed...

Fine family-run Tuscan / Italian restaurant with hotel (5 rooms) The food was very, very tasty, the operators are super nice and courteous (the cook cooks with heart and you can taste it). The rooms have everything you need, with a magnificent view. Would love to come back.

Restaurant is only for local hotel guests. Unfriendly reception. Just drive further and you will find something else better.

Perfect Italian food and amazing Tuscany feeling in the black forest. We will surely return. Don't forget the "Tuscany plate of antipasti misti". It's the best you can find.

Very warm hosts, great food, beautiful garden, really a place for (almost) every day

The included breakfast was wonderful with a wide variety of food. We had our dinner meal in the restaurant the first night and it was delicious, well presented and one of the best we have had in Germany. It was so good we decided to eat there on our second night. We were not disappointed with another wonderful meal. Mario who is the chef is very talented and exceptional. Not only are the meals uniquely created, they are artfully plated and the flavors are memorable! Beatrice was so helpful from the moment we checked in and made us feel very comfortable with her warmth. Inselklause is in the country yet only a short drive to Triberg. This gave us the feeling of peaceful solitude in the beauty of the countryside. We would have enjoyed staying longer. I would recommend both the restaurant and the hotel without any hesitation!

Absolutely loved it.

Very nice hotel. Service at a good level, breakfast, clean rooms, with a beautiful view of the forest, the river, the sound of water, rooms with a balcony. All requests are trying to fulfill.

Lovely place to stop for a Cuppa or a light snack. They do offer a full menue but we just stopped there for a pit stop. Staff were very friendly and helpful 👍

We spent a wonderful week here. Relaxed and friendly, mien hosts looked after us extremely well. The restaurant had by far the best food we tried in the region. The stream overlooked from our balcony provided a most relaxing background sound. Our room was very clean and comfortable. Very highly recommended!

Great food, good service, friendly and helpful staff.

Stopped by after a short hiking trip in the area with some of my in-laws. The area is very nice and the staff was great. The chef was super cool and came out to our table to chat and took our orders. Two words to describe the food: absolutely amazing. I had an amazing cut of lamb with green beans and fried potatoes I've ever tasted. 10/10 would go again. My only regret is that I ate it so fast I didn't get to take a picture! I will be back...soon

We had a lovely lunch here with a grilled trout. The service was superb and the seating was really nice. Would absolutely recommend stopping here for a lunch

A very good hotel and restaurant. Rooms are clean and very nice decorated. There is a small welcome basket with fruit. They have very good wines and the food is fantastic. The fish is super fresh caught in the little river behind the hotel.

This place is amazing! We have been traveling all around Europe and this is the first place that took our breath away. The service is phenomenal! Our waitress at the restaurant was so sweet and was happy to talk to us in English about any questions we had. On top of that, the food was SO good. My family and I finished everything. It was like eating at a top tier restaurant for a fraction of the price. The rooms are lovely with more space than we have experienced in other European hotels and the showers are pretty cool- it's a rain-style shower head with jets that light up. Our balcony overlooked a little Creek that was very relaxing to fall asleep to. I only wish we could have stayed longer! Thank you so much Hotel Die Inselkhause!!
